This Air Fryer Cauliflower Steaks recipe offers a delicious and healthy way to enjoy cauliflower with a crispy, golden exterior and tender inside. Marinated with a flavorful blend of garlic, turmeric, smoked paprika, and parsley, these cauliflower steaks are air-fried to perfection and served with lemon wedges and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese for an extra burst of flavor.

Ingredients

Cauliflower

  • 1 head cauliflower

Marinade

  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley

To Serve

  • lemon wedges
  • grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cauliflower: Remove the outer leaves of the cauliflower using a sharp knife. Cut the cauliflower in half and then slice each half into 1-inch thick steaks carefully.
  2. Make the Marinade: In a small bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, turmeric powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Brush this marinade generously over the cauliflower steaks to coat evenly.
  3. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and preheat for approximately 3 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  4. Air Fry the Cauliflower Steaks: Place the marinated cauliflower steaks in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 12 to 15 minutes until the edges turn golden brown and crisp, and the inside becomes fork-tender. Flip the steaks halfway through cooking for even browning. If they appear dry, brush with additional olive oil. For a more charred finish, cook a few minutes longer as desired.
  5. Serve: Serve the warm cauliflower steaks with lemon wedges and a sprinkle of freshly grated parmesan cheese for added flavor.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
  • Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 2 to 3 minutes for best results.
  • Seasoning Ideas: Add 1 tbsp parmesan cheese to the marinade, sprinkle grated cheddar cheese at the end of cooking, or add 1 tbsp of cajun, taco, or fajita seasoning for a different flavor profile.
  • Enhance the marinade by adding 1 tbsp lime or lemon juice.
  • Save extra cauliflower florets for additional air frying, making cauliflower rice, or incorporating into soups and curries.
