These Air Fryer Turkey Meatballs are a quick, healthy, and delicious meal option that combines lean ground turkey with fresh bell pepper and Italian herbs. Air frying gives them a perfectly crispy outside while keeping them juicy inside, making them perfect for a nutritious dinner or meal prep.

Ingredients

Meatball Mixture

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground turkey
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Italian parsley, chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and prepare the basket by lightly spraying or lining it to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, finely chopped red bell pepper, chopped Italian parsley, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and ground black pepper. Mix everything thoroughly but gently to avoid overworking the meat.
  3. Shape Meatballs: Using a scooper or a tablespoon, shape the mixture into meatballs approximately 1 1/4 inches in diameter. Make sure they are even-sized for consistent cooking.
  4. Arrange Meatballs: Place the meatballs in a single layer inside the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd to ensure even air circulation and cooking.
  5. Cook: Air fry the meatballs at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes, or until they are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  6. Repeat Cooking: Remove the cooked meatballs and set aside. Continue air frying any remaining meatballs in batches, following the same procedure.

Notes

  • Arrange the turkey meatballs in a single layer and avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket for even cooking.
  • Do not overmix the meatball mixture, as overmixing can make the meatballs tough and chewy.
  • Store leftover turkey meatballs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • You can freeze any leftover meatballs in an airtight container for up to 2 months.
  • To reheat frozen meatballs, thaw overnight in the refrigerator, then air fry at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 2-3 minutes until warmed through.
