Ingredients

Dip Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup Franks hot sauce
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (can substitute sour cream)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 2 cups finely shredded rotisserie chicken or cooked chicken
  • Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste

Optional Toppings

  • Chopped green onion
  • Crumbled blue cheese
  • Fresh parsley

For Serving

  • Chips
  • Cut-up vegetables
  • Toasted baguette slices

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or an 8-inch cast iron skillet with butter or non-stick spray and set aside.
  2. Mix Base Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, Franks hot sauce, plain Greek yogurt, chopped green onion, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and evenly blended.
  3. Add Cheese and Chicken: Fold in ½ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and ½ cup of shredded cheddar cheese along with the finely shredded rotisserie or cooked chicken. Season with kosher salt and black pepper to taste and mix thoroughly to distribute all ingredients evenly.
  4. Assemble and Top: Spread the prepared dip mixture evenly into the greased baking dish or skillet. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup mozzarella and ½ cup cheddar cheese evenly on top.
  5. Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dip is hot, bubbly, and the top cheese is melted and lightly browned.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove the dip from the oven and, if desired, garnish with additional chopped green onion, crumbled blue cheese, and fresh parsley. Serve immediately with your choice of chips, cut vegetables, or toasted baguette slices for dipping.

Notes

  • Store any leftover dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Reheat leftovers in the microwave or oven until warmed through and bubbly.
  • To make this dip in a slow cooker, combine all ingredients (except garnishes) in the slow cooker. Cook on low for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally, until the dip is hot and bubbly. Keep on warm and stir frequently during serving.
  • Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a healthier option with tangy flavor.
  • Adjust hot sauce amount based on your preferred spice level.
