A delicious and easy-to-make Cranberry Turkey Grilled Cheese sandwich combining savory turkey, creamy provolone, and sweet cranberries, all grilled to golden perfection for a comforting meal or snack.

Ingredients

Sandwich Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 4-6 slices of turkey (fresh or deli)
  • 1/4 cup prepared cranberries (cooked or bagged according to package directions)
  • 2 slices of provolone cheese
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon butter for grilling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the bread: Spread mayonnaise evenly on one side of each bread slice to add flavor and help with browning during grilling.
  2. Assemble the sandwich: Place a slice of provolone cheese on the mayo-spread side of one bread slice, layer the turkey slices on top of the cheese, then add the prepared cranberries evenly over the turkey. Top with the second slice of bread, mayo side down.
  3. Grill the sandwich: Heat a skillet or frying pan over low to medium heat. Add butter and let it melt and coat the pan. Place the sandwich in the pan and cook for 2-4 minutes on each side until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and oozing out slightly.
  4. Serve warm: Remove the grilled sandwich from the pan, slice if desired, and enjoy immediately for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Use fresh or leftover turkey according to availability.
  • Prepared cranberries can be substituted with homemade cranberry sauce if preferred.
  • Low to medium heat is crucial to ensure cheese melts without burning the bread.
  • Mayonnaise on bread helps prevent sogginess and adds rich flavor.
  • You can use other cheese varieties like Swiss or cheddar if provolone is not available.
