This creamy baked feta cheese dip combines tangy feta, sour cream, marinated artichoke hearts, and a blend of mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Baked until bubbly and golden on top, it’s perfect as a warm, savory appetizer served with crispy crostini or sliced baguette.

Ingredients

Cheese and Dairy

  • 8 ounce block feta cheese
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • 12 ounces shredded whole milk mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 5 ounces shredded Parmesan cheese

Vegetables and Aromatics

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 12 ounces marinated artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • Sliced chives for garnish

Seasonings

  • Kosher salt
  • Fresh cracked pepper

Serving

  • My easy crostini recipe for serving (or sliced French baguette)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the dip.
  2. Blend Base Ingredients: Crumble the feta cheese into a food processor along with the sour cream, minced garlic, and a few large pinches of kosher salt and freshly cracked pepper. Process until the mixture is smooth, creamy, and well combined.
  3. Mix in Artichokes and Cheeses: Transfer the creamy feta mixture to a large bowl. Add the chopped marinated artichoke hearts, half of the mozzarella cheese, and all of the shredded Parmesan cheese. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  4. Prepare for Baking: Spread the mixture evenly into a 9×9-inch baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese evenly over the top to create a cheesy crust when baked.
  5. Bake the Dip: Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and the top cheese is melted and starting to brown.
  6. Broil for Finish: Switch your oven to broil and broil the dip for 1 to 2 minutes carefully until the top becomes a dark golden brown, creating an appetizing crust.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven and sprinkle the dip with sliced chives for freshness and color. Serve warm with crispy crostini or sliced French baguette slices. Enjoy your comforting and flavorful appetizer!

Notes

  • Ensure that the artichoke hearts are well-drained to prevent excess moisture in the dip.
  • You can substitute whole milk mozzarella with part-skim if desired, though the texture might be slightly less creamy.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes in the blending step.
  • Leftovers store well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat gently before serving.
