This creamy dill pickle hummus brings a tangy twist to classic hummus with the addition of chopped dill pickles and pickle juice, balanced by fresh dill and lemon juice. Perfect as a vibrant dip or spread, it’s quick to prepare and offers a refreshing, savory snack or appetizer with a delightful pickle punch.

Ingredients

Hummus Base

  • 2 cans Chick Peas (15 ounces each), drained
  • ½ cup Tahini
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, roughly chopped
  • 1 Lemon, juiced

Dill Pickle Flavor

  • ½ cup Chopped Dill Pickles
  • ¼ cup Dill Pickle Juice
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Dill

Seasoning

  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chick Peas: Drain the chick peas thoroughly and transfer them to the bowl of a food processor to create the hummus base.
  2. Add Ingredients: Add the tahini, chopped dill pickles, dill pickle juice, lemon juice, garlic cloves, and fresh dill to the food processor bowl with the chick peas.
  3. Blend: Turn the food processor on high speed and blend the mixture for about 1 minute until smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed. Adjust seasoning by adding salt and pepper to taste and blend briefly again.
  4. Chill: Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and the texture to thicken slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For an ultra-smooth texture, peel the skins off the chick peas before blending.
  • Chilling the hummus for at least an hour enhances the flavor profile.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days to maintain freshness.
