Celebrate Easter with these festive Easter Egg Brownies, a fun and delicious treat perfect for springtime gatherings. Made from rich, moist brownies cut into egg shapes and decorated with colorful frosting and sprinkles, these brownies are sure to delight kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Brownie Base

  • 2 boxes brownie mix
  • 1 1/3 cups vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 eggs

Decoration

  • 2 containers white frosting
  • Easter sprinkles and/or candy

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) to ensure it reaches the right temperature for baking the brownies evenly.
  2. Prepare the brownie batter: Mix the brownie batter according to the instructions on the box, combining the brownie mix, vegetable oil, water, and eggs until smooth.
  3. Bake the brownies: Pour the prepared batter onto a large baking sheet (12″ x 17″) lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with only a few moist crumbs. Let the baked brownies cool completely on a wire rack.
  4. Cut out egg shapes: Using an egg-shaped cookie cutter, cut out various eggs from the cooled brownie slab. If you don’t have an egg-shaped cutter, use a printed template and a sharp knife to carefully cut around the shape. Transfer the cut brownies to a wire rack for decorating.
  5. Frost the brownies: Apply a layer of white frosting evenly on top of each brownie egg, providing a smooth base for decoration.
  6. Decorate the eggs: Use different colored frostings, sugars, sprinkles, and candies to create fun and colorful Easter egg designs on each brownie.

Notes

  • If you don’t have an egg-shaped cookie cutter, use a printed template and a sharp knife to cut out the shapes easily.
  • To prevent the brownies from sticking to the cookie cutter, lightly spray the inside of the cutter with non-stick cooking spray before cutting.
