Delightful frozen chocolate covered strawberry bites made by mashing fresh strawberries into sweet clusters, freezing them solid, and then dipping in rich melted chocolate for a refreshing and indulgent treat.

Ingredients

Strawberries

  • 16 oz fresh strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Chocolate Coating

  • 16 oz chocolate candy coating

Instructions

  1. Prepare Strawberries: Place ripe strawberries in a bowl and sprinkle with sugar to enhance their natural sweetness. Mash the strawberries with a fork until they form a chunky mixture.
  2. Form Clusters: Use a spoon to scoop approximately 2 tablespoons of the mashed strawberry mixture and place into 6 separate piles on a parchment-lined baking sheet or plate that fits into your freezer.
  3. Freeze Clusters: Transfer the baking sheet or plate to the freezer and freeze the strawberry piles for 3-4 hours, or until they are fully frozen and solid to the touch.
  4. Melt Chocolate: When the strawberry clusters are frozen solid and you are ready to coat them, melt the chocolate candy coating following the package instructions until smooth and fluid.
  5. Dip Strawberry Bites: Carefully dip each frozen strawberry cluster into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated, then place them back onto the parchment paper to set.
  6. Harden Chocolate: Place the chocolate-coated strawberry bites back into the freezer and allow the chocolate to harden completely before serving. This usually takes about 15-30 minutes.

Notes

  • Ensure strawberries are ripe and fresh for the best flavor.
  • You can substitute the chocolate candy coating with high-quality dark or milk chocolate chips.
  • Work quickly when dipping to prevent the strawberry clusters from thawing.
  • Store the finished bites in an airtight container in the freezer for up to one week.
  • For best results, serve directly from the freezer to maintain the frozen texture.
