These Hot Honey Salmon Bites are a deliciously sweet and spicy appetizer or main dish, featuring tender salmon cubes air-fried to perfection and coated in a warm, buttery hot honey glaze. Quick to prepare and packed with bold flavors, they make a perfect finger food for parties or a satisfying weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Salmon Bites

  • 1 ½ pounds salmon, about 4 filets, skins removed, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Hot Honey Glaze

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
  • ¼ cup (85 g) hot honey, homemade or store-bought

Garnish

  • Parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) and allow it to fully preheat for even cooking.
  2. Prepare the salmon bites: In a large bowl, mix together the olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, and black pepper. Add the cubed salmon and gently toss to evenly coat all pieces with the seasoning mixture.
  3. Air fry the salmon: Arrange the salmon cubes in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Depending on your air fryer size, you may need to cook them in batches. Air fry for 9 to 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. The salmon should reach an internal temperature of 140-145°F (60-63°C).
  4. Make the hot honey glaze: While the salmon cooks, melt the unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the hot honey to the melted butter and warm, stirring gently until combined. Remove the pan from heat.
  5. Coat the salmon bites: Transfer the cooked salmon bites to the saucepan with the hot honey glaze. Gently toss them until each piece is evenly coated with the warm glaze.
  6. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the glazed salmon bites and serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake the salmon bites in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 12-15 minutes.
  • For a homemade hot honey, mix honey with red pepper flakes and warm gently.
  • Adjust the amount of hot honey based on your preferred spice level.
  • Make sure the salmon bites are in a single layer for even cooking in the air fryer.
  • Use fresh parsley for garnish to add a pop of color and freshness.
