Combining tender cooked shrimp with cream cheese, cheddar, and a zing of Old Bay seasoning and hot sauce, it’s baked until bubbly and golden. Serve warm with crackers, bread, or vegetables for a crowd-pleasing treat.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 12 ounces (340.2 g) cooked shrimp, tails removed and chopped into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 6 ounces (170.1 g) cream cheese, well softened
  • 1 cup (113 g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup (76.67 g) sour cream
  • 1/4 cup (56 g) mayonnaise
  • 2 medium green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp hot sauce, more to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350ºF to prepare for baking the dip to a bubbly, golden finish.
  2. Prepare Shrimp: Remove the tails from the cooked shrimp and chop them into roughly 1/2 inch pieces for easier mixing and bite-sized portions.
  3. Mix Cheeses and Creams: In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and evenly blended.
  4. Add Flavors: Fold the chopped shrimp, green onions, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, and hot sauce into the cheese mixture. Stir well to combine all ingredients, then taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.
  5. Transfer to Baking Dish: Spoon the mixture into a medium-sized glass or ceramic baking dish (about 1 quart), spreading it evenly to the edges.
  6. Bake the Dip: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until the top is browned and the dip is bubbling hot.
  7. Serve Warm: Remove from oven and serve the hot shrimp dip warm with your choice of crackers, bread, or fresh veggies for dipping.
