A spicy and creamy Jalapeño Popper Pizza combining the flavors of jalapeños, cream cheese, and melted mozzarella and Monterey Jack cheeses on a crispy homemade or store-bought pizza dough, perfect for a flavorful and easy-to-make appetizer or meal.

Ingredients

Pizza Base

  • 1 ball of pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

Toppings and Spread

  • 2 fresh jalapeños, sliced and seeds removed (leave seeds if you want it extra spicy)
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup shredded or sliced mozzarella cheese (about 4 slices)
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped chives (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly coat a pizza pan or baking sheet with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare the Pizza Dough: Using your hands, stretch or roll the pizza dough into a circle about 10 inches in diameter. Transfer the dough onto the pan lined with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  3. Mix the Cream Cheese Spread: In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper, mixing until smooth and well blended.
  4. Assemble the Pizza: Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over the pizza dough, leaving about a 3/4 to 1 inch border around the edges. Layer the mozzarella slices over the cream cheese, then sprinkle the shredded Monterey Jack cheese on top. Finally, arrange the sliced jalapeños evenly across the pizza.
  5. Bake the Pizza: Place the assembled pizza into the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheeses are melted and bubbly.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle with finely chopped chives if using. Slice and enjoy your Jalapeño Popper Pizza!

Notes

  • For extra spicy heat, leave the jalapeño seeds intact.
  • You can substitute Monterey Jack cheese with cheddar for a sharper flavor.
  • If you prefer a crispier crust, bake the dough for 5 minutes before adding toppings.
  • Serve with a side of ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to ensure easy spreading.
