This refreshing Lemon Ginger Cinnamon Tea combines the invigorating warmth of cinnamon and ginger with the bright zest of lemon, sweetened naturally with honey. Perfect for soothing the senses and boosting your immune system, this tea is simple to prepare and can be enjoyed warm or cooled as a refreshing beverage.

Ingredients

Tea Base

  • 1 1/8 cups (250 ml / 9 fl oz) filtered water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 slices of fresh ginger
  • Peel of 1/2 lemon

Flavor Enhancers

  • 2 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions

  1. Boil the water: Pour the filtered water into a saucepan and bring it to a rolling boil over high heat. Once boiling, remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool for about 3 minutes to prevent damaging delicate ingredients later.
  2. Steep ingredients: Add the lemon peel, cinnamon stick, and fresh ginger slices to the hot water. Cover and set aside to infuse and cool for 10 to 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to develop fully.
  3. Add lemon juice and honey: When the tea has cooled to lukewarm (between 98-109°F / 37-43°C), stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and honey until the honey is fully dissolved. This ensures the nutrients stay intact.
  4. Serve: Remove the lemon peel, cinnamon stick, and ginger slices before serving. Enjoy your lemon ginger cinnamon tea warm or let it cool completely to serve chilled as a refreshing drink.

Notes

  • Use high-quality, preferably organic lemons and pure honey without added sugars for the best flavor and health benefits.
  • Steep the ingredients for at least 10 to 20 minutes for a richer and more complex tea.
  • Do not add lemon juice and honey while the tea is hot to preserve their nutrients; always wait until the tea is lukewarm.
  • For a milder lemon flavor, omit the lemon juice and use only lemon peel to impart a gentle citrus aroma without tartness.
  • If the tea tastes too sour, add a pinch of baking soda to neutralize the acidity.
  • Adjust honey sweetness according to preference: use 1/2 tablespoon for less sweetness or up to 2 tablespoons for a sweeter tea.
  • This recipe yields one serving; it can be easily multiplied for more servings.
