Ingredients

For the Blondies

  • 1 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted, browned and cooled
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

For the Maple Glaze

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup confectioner’s sugar, sifted
  • Pinch of kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the blondies.
  2. Prepare Baking Pan: Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, ensuring the paper extends up the sides for easy removal of the baked blondies.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a mixer bowl, combine the brown sugar, browned butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and eggs. Mix on medium speed until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  4. Add Dry Ingredients: Reduce the mixer speed to low and gradually add the all-purpose flour, kosher salt, and baking soda. Mix just until combined to avoid overmixing.
  5. Spread Batter: Transfer the blondie batter to the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly using a spatula.
  6. Bake Blondies: Bake in the preheated oven for 23 to 27 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Prepare Maple Glaze: While the blondies are baking, melt the butter in a pan over low heat along with the maple syrup. Once melted, whisk in the sifted confectioner’s sugar and a pinch of kosher salt until smooth and lump-free.
  8. Glaze Blondies: As soon as the blondies come out of the oven and are still warm, spread the maple glaze evenly over the top. Let the glaze set before cutting into bars.
  9. Serve: Once the glaze is set, cut the blondies into bars and serve.

Notes

  • To store, tightly wrap the blondies in plastic wrap and keep at room temperature for 3-4 days.
  • You can also refrigerate the wrapped blondies to extend freshness up to one week.
  • For best flavor, use pure maple syrup and freshly browned butter as recommended.
  • Ensure to not overbake to maintain moist and chewy texture.
