Delicious and easy-to-make Oreo truffles combining crushed Oreos and cream cheese, coated in smooth melted chocolate and drizzled with white chocolate, perfect for a sweet treat or party favor.

Ingredients

Oreo Truffle Mixture

  • 36 Oreos (including the filling)
  • 6 ounces softened cream cheese

Chocolate Coating

  • 10 ounces chocolate candy melts
  • 5 ounces white candy melts
  • 1-2 teaspoons coconut oil (optional, for thinning candy melts)

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos. Place 36 Oreos into a food processor and pulse a few times at high speed until they are finely crushed into a very fine crumb.
  2. Mix with cream cheese. Add 6 ounces of softened cream cheese to the food processor and blend on high speed until well combined, creating a chocolate cookie dough texture.
  3. Form truffle balls. Remove the blade, transfer the mixture into a bowl, and use a medium cookie scoop or cake baller to scoop even amounts. Roll each scoop into a ball with your hands.
  4. Freeze the truffles. Place the rolled truffles onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for 15 minutes to firm up.
  5. Melt chocolate candy melts. While the truffles freeze, melt 10 ounces of chocolate candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
  6. Coat the truffles. Use a butter knife to place a small amount of melted chocolate on its thickest part. Place one truffle on the chocolate to hold it, then use a small spoon to cover the truffle fully with melted chocolate. Slide the coated truffle onto a wax paper-lined baking sheet. Repeat with all truffles.
  7. Melt white candy melts and drizzle. Melt 5 ounces of white candy melts in a bowl. Pour into a disposable pastry bag and snip a small tip off the end. Drizzle the white chocolate over the chocolate coated truffles.
  8. Set and serve. Allow the truffles to set for about 20 minutes until the coating hardens before serving.

Notes

  • If you don’t have a food processor, crush Oreos in a gallon-sized ziplock bag using a rolling pin. Then whip cream cheese in a bowl with an electric hand mixer and mix in crushed Oreos.
  • If candy melts are too thick, thin with 1-2 teaspoons of coconut oil for easier coating.
  • Make truffles in advance up until decorating. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 weeks or freeze for up to 2 months.
