Delight in a quick and easy twist on classic s’mores with these Salted Caramel S’mores made right in your oven. Featuring crispy Belgian waffle butter cookies, rich salted caramel filled chocolate, and gooey golden-broiled marshmallows, this recipe is the perfect sweet treat for any time of year.

Ingredients

Cookies

  • 10 Belgian Waffle Butter Crisp Cookies (or regular graham crackers)

Chocolate

  • 5 salted caramel filled chocolate squares (1 ounce each, such as Ghirardelli)

Marshmallows

  • 5 marshmallows, torn in half

Instructions

  1. Preheat the broiler: Set the oven rack to the highest position and turn on the broiler to heat up the oven.
  2. Prepare the baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup, then place five cookie crisps evenly spaced on the sheet.
  3. Add the chocolate: Place one salted caramel filled chocolate square on top of each cookie.
  4. Top with marshmallows: Tear each marshmallow in half and place two halves on top of each chocolate square.
  5. Broil the s’mores: Insert the baking sheet under the broiler and watch closely. Broil for 30 seconds to 2 minutes until the marshmallows are golden brown, puffed up, and chocolate begins to melt.
  6. Finish and serve: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and immediately top each s’more with another cookie. Serve right away while warm and gooey.

Notes

  • Keep a close eye on the marshmallows while broiling as they can burn quickly.
  • Substitute regular graham crackers if Belgian waffle cookies are unavailable.
  • For a less sweet version, use plain chocolate squares without caramel filling.
  • Use a sturdy cookie or cracker to ensure the s’more holds together when eating.
  • Serve immediately for best texture and gooeyness.
