Smashed Date Snickers are a delightful no-bake treat combining naturally sweet dates, creamy peanut butter, and rich dark chocolate. This simple recipe requires minimal ingredients and prep, creating a healthy, indulgent snack perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth with a homemade twist on the classic Snickers flavor.

Ingredients

Dates

  • 12 dates – pitted

Peanut Butter Layer

  • ½ cup natural & creamy peanut butter

Chocolate Layer

  • ½ cup dark chocolate, melted
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (to thin chocolate)

Toppings (Optional)

  • Crushed peanuts
  • Flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prep the Dates: Open the pitted dates and stretch them out into a single long line on a baking sheet, ensuring they are evenly spaced to prepare for smashing.
  2. Smash the Dates: Place a piece of parchment paper over the dates to prevent sticking, then use the bottom of a glass or jar to gently smash them down into a flattened layer.
  3. Assemble the Layers: Spread 1 teaspoon of natural creamy peanut butter evenly on top of each smashed date, then drizzle or spoon 1 teaspoon of melted dark chocolate over the peanut butter layer. Sprinkle with crushed peanuts and a pinch of flaky sea salt if desired.
  4. Chill to Set: Transfer the baking sheet to the refrigerator or freezer and chill for at least 20 minutes to allow the chocolate and peanut butter layers to set firmly. Serve chilled and enjoy your Smashed Date Snickers!

Notes

  • Using parchment paper during smashing helps prevent sticking and makes cleanup easier.
  • You can substitute crunchy peanut butter if you prefer added texture.
  • Add a teaspoon of coconut oil to melted chocolate to achieve a smooth, pourable consistency.
  • Serve directly from the fridge for best taste and texture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
