This Tasty Boursin Brussels Sprouts recipe features halved Brussels sprouts baked in a creamy garlic and herb Boursin cheese mixture, finished with a drizzle of spicy honey for a perfect blend of savory, tangy, and sweet flavors. Easy to prepare and ideal as a flavorful side dish for any meal.

Ingredients

For the Brussels Sprouts:

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts
  • 1/2 tsp seasoned salt

For the Cheese Mixture:

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (California Olive Ranch extra virgin recommended)
  • 5.2 oz Boursin cheese (Garlic & Fine Herbs flavor recommended)

For the Topping:

  • 1 tbsp spicy honey (such as Mike’s Hot Honey)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: Trim the Brussels sprouts by cutting off the bottom stem area of each sprout, then cut them in half. Set the halved sprouts aside while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.
  2. Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Baking Dish: Preheat your oven to 400°F. Select a 13×9 inch baking dish, preferably ceramic cast iron to help prevent sticking. In a bowl, combine the Boursin cheese and olive oil until smooth, then spread this mixture evenly across the bottom of the baking dish.
  3. Arrange Brussels Sprouts in the Dish: Firmly press each halved Brussels sprout into the cheese mixture on the bottom of the dish. Arrange them either randomly or in neat rows, depending on your preference. Drizzle a little olive oil over the sprouts and use a basting brush to spread it evenly. Finally, sprinkle the seasoned salt evenly on top to enhance the flavor.
  4. Bake and Finish: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 28 to 30 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are tender and slightly crispy. Remove from the oven and let the dish rest, undisturbed, for 5 to 10 minutes. Immediately drizzle the spicy honey over the baked Brussels sprouts for a sweet and spicy finish. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Using a ceramic cast iron baking dish helps prevent sticking and ensures even cooking.
  • Spicy honey adds a delightful balance of sweetness and heat, but you can adjust or omit it to suit taste preferences.
  • Seasoned salt gives extra flavor; regular salt can be substituted if preferred.
  • Allowing the dish to rest after baking lets the flavors meld and the sprouts to finish cooking.
  • For a vegetarian option, ensure the honey used is acceptable or substitute with a maple syrup drizzle.
